Renee Matoe has a wealth of experience as she has played in various regional and national New Zealand competitions. She has been apart of the Central BEKO, and Auckland Mystics Netball teams.

She has her Composite Coaching Qualification and is a part of the Netball New Zealand Performance Coach Qualification Programme. She is  the current Aotearoa Māori Secondary School Netball Assistant Coach and Manawatū U17 representative coach. In 2020 she has taken up a new role of  apprentice Coach for Te Wanangā o Raukawa Pulse netball team in the ANZ Premiership.
